Blake Croxdale Writing Award
The Blake Croxdale Writing Award is presented to a graduating senior who shows exceptional promise as a writer. In addition to the completed application, you must submit a writing sample, current transcript covering the last seven academic semesters, two photographs of yourself, and a reference by a teacher at Fayetteville High School who has knowledge of writing, i.e. English, creative writing or journalism. Submit the required paperwork to the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation, PO Box 571, Fayetteville, AR 72702.
The Class of 1952 Scholarship is intended for future education majors, with a preferred focus in math or science. This application is for students enrolled at Fayetteville High School and plan on attending the University of Arkansas for one year. Before the deadline, please submit the finished application, a current transcript covering the last seven academic semesters, a photograph of yourself, and two letters of recommendation. Marty Thurlby Deweese Study Abroad
The Marty Thurlby Deweese Study Abroad Grant will provide grants to current or former Fayetteville High School students for study abroad. It is based on merit and need and encourages: foreign travel, the study of foreign language, the exploration of other cultures, understanding of other peoples and an awareness of ourselves as world citizens. Submit the completed application to the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation, PO Box 571, Fayetteville, AR 72702.
Heather Spears Memorial Scholarship
The Heather Spears Scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to any qualified graduate of FHS. The recipient will demonstrate not only academic achievement, but also involvement in extra-curricular activities and the community at large. Nathan Altman Scholarship for Creative Writing
The Nathan Altman Scholarship for Creative Writing is intended for students enrolled at Fayetteville High School. Applicants must complete all items in each section and return form with attachments to Ms. Anne Butt or Treva Hamilton. You must attach a creative writing sample, current transcript covering the last seven academic semesters, a photograph of yourself, and two letters of recommendation, which may be sent to Ms. Butt or Treva Hamilton under separate cover or attached to this application. Matthew William Moore Scholarship
The Matthew William Moore Scholarship is intended for an outstanding member of the Fayetteville High School senior class who has made a significant and broad contribution to FHS and who has compiled an impressive and ambitious academic record. Consideration will be given to the applicant’s plans for the future, student leadership, positive contribution to FHS, academic achievement, grade point average and class rank. It is recommended that the recipient be in the top ten percent (10%) of the graduating class and have a 30 ACT. Financial need/family circumstances will be considered. This application may also be accessed through Mrs. Anne Butt at the College and Career Classroom at FHS. Submit completed scholarship forms to Mrs. Anne Butt in the College and Career Classroom at FHS.
Matthew Siebenmorgen Memorial Scholarship
The Matthew J. Siebenmorgen Memorial Scholarship is intended for an outstanding Fayetteville High School senior who will be attending a college or university upon graduation and will not likely receive other major scholarship awards. The scholarship is intended to commemorate the ideals and life of Matthew, who was an outstanding student academically, was in excellent standing among his teachers, and was dedicated to family, church, and civic activities. He had a tremendous work ethic, particularly in home, community and church activities.
