Minutes of the April 2, 2008 Special Meeting

The meeting convened at 5:00PM in the Adams Leadership Center with President Steve Percival presiding. The roll was called and board members John Delap, Tim Kring, Howard Hamilton, Steve Percival, Susan Heil, Tim Hudson and Becky Purcell were present.

The Board convened in executive session at 5:01PM to discuss the superintendent candidates.

The Board returned to open session at 6:24PM. Tim Kring made a motion that one candidate remain in the applicant pool for the superintendent position. Howard Hamilton seconded the motion, which passed by a 7-0 vote.

The Board adjourned to closed session at 6:25PM to notify the applicants of their status.

The Board returned to open session at 6:34PM. Board president Steve Percival announced that the one remaining candidate is Dr. Richard Abernathy. After discussion by the Board, Howard Hamilton made a motion to interview Dr. Richard Abernathy for the superintendent position. Tim Kring seconded the motion, which passed by a 5-2 vote. The Board agreed to interview Dr. Abernathy as the first step in the interview process.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:57PM.
