Minutes of the May 5, 2008 Special Meeting

The meeting convened at 5:30PM in the Adams Leadership Center with President Steve Percival presiding. Roll was called and board members John Delap, Tim Kring, Howard Hamilton, Steve Percival, Susan Heil, Tim Hudson and Becky Purcell were present.

The Board adjourned to executive session at 5:32PM to discuss the superintendent candidate.

The Board reconvened in open session at 7:50PM. Howard Hamilton made a motion to authorize the board president to offer Dr. Richard Abernathy the job of superintendent of the Fayetteville School District subject to the negotiations of the terms of the contract with the final terms of the contract subject to the approval of the Board. Tim Kring seconded the motion, which passed by a 7-0 vote.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00PM.
