Welcome Jim Arnosky to Fayetteville!
Feature Story
The elementary classrooms in Fayetteville Schools are filled with teachers instructing young students in all subject areas. Every now and then we are fortunate enough
to break from the everyday instructional model and make the resources used in the classroom come to life! This time we are talking about the science curriculum, and this week we are so proud to introduce Jim Arnosky to Fayetteville Schools!
Jim is self-taught in writing, art and the natural sciences, and comes to us as the award winning children’s author and illustrator with over 90 published nature books for children including his classic book, “Drawing From Nature.” He has also illustrated over 40 other books written by various authors, and he has received the Christopher Medal, the Orbis Pictus Honor, and the Key Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Science Books, just to name a few.
Some of his latest books include: "Coyote Raid in Cactus Canyon"(Putnam); "Under The Wild Western Sky" (Harper Collins); and "Hook, Line and Seeker" (Scholastic). He will be making stops at
Vandergriff, Leverett, Happy Hollow and Root Elementary Schools, as well as the FayettevillePublic Library on Thursday, November 17th at 6:30PM in the Walker Community Room for a presentation and book signing. For information on his works and tours visit Jim Arnosky’s Wildlife Journal at http://www.jimarnosky.com/.
