Say Goodnight, Gracie
BY: Julie Reece Deaver
Say Goodnight, Gracie is a tearjerker. It talks about best friends’ times together and their dreams. One of them dies, it tells you that on the first page. Then later in the book it tells how he dies. This book deals with a girl, Morgan, coping with the death of her best friend, Jimmy. Jimmy and Morgan were best friends;  they grew up together and were very close. Jimmy was going to be on Broadway, well at least that was his dream. Morgan wanted to be an actress. They did everything together. They skipped school ,went to cheer each other on for tryouts, or just hung out together.
You feel like you know these people and what they are going through by the way the book is so detailed. You share their pain and want to accomplish their dreams. The book is 214 pages long and enjoyable for people with interests in sad books. I feel the ending was unfinished and needed more;it was like a cliffhanger.
This book is meant for teenagers or young adults to enjoy, for it tells about a seventeen-year-old trying to get over the death of her friend. Some main questions you think during this book are: Why him? He's a good person! Why do bad things happen to good people? You know the pain they are going through even if it hasn’t happened to you! Things happen and it takes a while to realize that it happened, and it takes awhile to move on with your life. This book captures your attention and you never want to put it down.
