Left Behind
By Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins

Suppose you were watching television, with a friend, and suddenly she (or he) disappeared? Just like that.  All that was left were her clothes, jewelry, and shoes! You would, at first, probably assume that your friend is playing a mean trick on you and has just run off naked.   But then you realize your parents and siblings are gone too!! You've been left behind! It's the Rapture! What would you do?

Captain Rayford Steele was flying his plane early evening when his senior flight attendant, Hattie Durham, noticed that more than half of the passengers had vanished!  Millions of other people in the world are gone too!  The Captain realizes all too that God has come back for his followers as his wife, Irene, had been so earnestly trying to tell him would someday happen.  He had been left behind.  He was not one of Christ's people.

This is a time for people to come closer to the remains of their friends and family. Most importantly, it's a time to discover Christ. Left Behind, a novel by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, is known world-wide for its truth about the Rapture (the return of Christ for his people).  Both Christian authors have each received many awards for their books such as Golden Medallions.  The book itself is currently on the National Religious Bestsellers List of Christian Books.

I absolutely adored this book! It was very frightening to read about what one day WILL happen to us. Left Behind made me come even closer to Christ. I don't want to be left behind.  I also kept reading the novel because I admired the characters' courage (especially Cameron "Buck" Williams, the youngest senior editor for the prestigious Global Weekly, who faced his fears and found his relationship with God).  Once I started Left Behind, I couldn't put it down (ok, just a couple bathroom and food breaks)!  I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. Would Chloe (the captain's resistent daughter) overcome her fears and trust her father?  Would Buck Williams figure out who the Anti-Christ was?The Anti-Christ is a fake leader, who seems wonderful, who tries to take over the world and prevent people from being with God.

I think everyone should read this book before it's too late.  It is not very long (just about 400 pages).  Left Behind is also easy to read and comprehend even if you aren't an avid Christian book reader. Even the plot makes sense!  The only bad thing about the book is that it "keeps going".  There is a total of about seven books so far in the Left Behind series (Left Behind being the first) and I plan to read them all.

The main message the authors are sending us it that there is "nothing more important than making a decision now where you stand with Jesus Christ.  Don't wait until it's too late.  Please consider your life in the light of God's love".  These Christian authors know what they are talking about. Please read Left Behind.

"The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive and remain will be caught up (the Rapture) with them to meet the Lord in the air...and so shall we ever be with the Lord". (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
