The Lost Boy
By Dave Pelzer

The Lost Boy was an upsetting book about a little boy who was abused by his mother. David went through a hard time because of his mother's drinking problem. David's mother abused him by hitting him, never feeding him, making him sleep in the garage, and burning his arm over a gas stove. The abuse went on for years until he was taken away from his mother and put in a foster home. David went through the instability of moving in and out of five different homes. David was unhappy and confused about the problems he was going through.
The Lost Boy is a heart-felt, gripping, true account of a child's struggle of not only trying to find a home, but binding ties with his family. The Lost Boy is one of my favorite books. It relates to real life problems. It is also easy to understand, and something interesting is always happening. It was hard for me to stop reading it after I got started because it got me emotionally involved in David's problems.
This book is a New York Times Bestseller. It is also a long-awaited sequel to another bestseller A Child Called "It". The author, Dave Pelzer, wrote this book about the dedication that social services and foster families provide for children in peril. The Lost Boy is a sequel that is going to move you and stand alone as a inspiration to all.
