is an epic story of an old Cuban fisherman who lives in a small fishing
village. The old man has fished his whole life and now has run out
of luck. One day he goes out on his usual runs and catches a huge
marlin. The old man has the fight of his life, mentally and physically.
I enjoyed this book. I like Hemmingway's style of writing because it is easy to understand and makes sense. I felt I got to know all the characters and could relate to them. One thing I really liked about The Old Man and the Sea was that it never got boring. It is also very suspenseful in some parts, like when he first catches the fish. The Old Man and the Sea is not a long book but I think it was perfect size(127 pages). This book is for everyone, not for people who just like to fish. |
