Exploring Geometric Solids
and Their Properties
Geometric shapes are all around you. Pencils, cereal boxes, clouds, and water bottles are all examples of three-dimensional geometric shapes. Shapes like these are called geometric solids. In the real world, the shapes can be very complicated, like a cloud. Before studying complicated shapes, it's a good idea to first study some more basic shapes. That's what you will do in this lesson. Begin your exploration with Getting to Know the Shapes.
