Algebra 2 Information & Expectations

Welcome to Algebra 2!!!  Please read the following information and make sure you understand the policies and procedures as explained. 

 

Description: Students will be able to:  solve and graph linear equations and inequalities, graph linear relations and functions, apply operations using matrices, simplify, graph and solve all types of polynomial equations and functions, apply various methods (a CBL and graphing calculator) to model, collect, display and describe the variation of data.

 

Textbook:    McDougal Little Algebra 2 Explorations and Applications

(If the textbook is lost, then the student is responsible for the $45 replacement cost.)

 

Supplies:      Spiral bound notebook with pocket folders    

                   Sharpened pencils with erasers (mechanical pencils work great)

                   TI 82, 83 or 83+ Graphing Calculator or silver edition

 

Grading:       Nine-week grades are determined by unit/chapter tests which are 50%, and daily work (quizzes, projects, homework, worksheets) which is 50%.

Semester grades include a comprehensive final exam worth 20% in addition to each nine-week grade.

The grading scale is as follows:   100 - 90 A; 89 – 80 B; 79 – 70 C; 69 – 60 D; below 60 F

 

Missed Work:        IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE TEACHER ABOUT MISSED WORK WITH IN TWO DAYS OF YOUR ABSENCE.
