Substitute Teaching

How do I become a substitute teacher for Fayetteville Public Schools?

 

 

Fayetteville Public Schools is looking for individuals that are committed and focused on educating our children through substituting within our district.

We are happy to offer this information designed especially to help you in your substitute experience.

**Effective Immediately, Subs will be paid on the last day of the month**

2008-2009 School Year

 

New Substitutes

• Fill out the substitute application.
• To fill out an application, click here to access the Application Process page, including the printable substitute teacher application .
• The applications will be processed by HR and the applicant will be contacted for an interview.
• All references will be checked.

 

Returning Substitutes

• Need to have an updated TB test if the one on file is more than 3 years old.
• Need to attend a meeting before the school year begins to be eligible to substitute within the district.

 

Pay Rates

Daily:

• High School Diploma - $60/day
• College Degree/Non-Certified Teacher - $70/day
• Certified Teacher - $80/day
• Classified Staff (secretary, aides) - $8.00/hour
• Substitute that works a half day will get paid half of the daily rate.

Long-Term:

• 31 or more consecutive days in the same position (retroactive to the first day) and the substitute is fully certified to teach in that position - $130/day
