The first day of school is a milestone in the lives of both children and their parents. Learn more about your school zone and opportunities to attend open enrollment schools outside your zone.

Attendance Zones and Open Enrollment Schools

FPS School District attendance zones can be found here. Your child must attend the school in your zone unless you would like your child to attend one of the following open enrollment schools.

Open Enrollment Schools

Asbell Elementary Opens In New Window

Happy Hollow Elementary Opens In New Window

Leverett Elementary Opens In New Window

Washington Elementary Opens In New Window

If you would like to transfer your child to either of these schools (if space is available), you need to fill out a Transfer Request Form available at any school office or at the Administration building. You must first enroll at the school in your zone before seeking transfer approval.

Kindergarten Registration

Check back here for kindergarten registration dates for the 2009 - 2010 school year. Registration usually begins in April.

If you are new to Fayetteville and need to register your child mid-year, bring the following items to the elementary school office:

1. Proof of address (such as a utility bill - not a phone bill)
2. Your child's immunization records
3. Your child's social security card AND proof of birthday

Your child also needs a physical before he or she starts school. Any questions you may have can be directed to your child's elementary school.

After School Care

After-school child care is available at each elementary school and is administered through the School Kids Connection (SKC) Opens In New Window at the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club. Hours are 3-6 pm, Monday – Friday, on days that school is in session. To register, visit the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club or the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club website Opens In New Window. Scholarships are available through the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club for the membership fee for families who qualify. DHS (Department of Human Services) vouchers are accepted.
